Kim Clement misses the mark yet again

by Steve Lumbley, Apostasy Watch!

Not long ago I featured Kim Clement as my heretic of the week. His latest so called prophecies qualifies him as my first 2 time winner.

Sept 10 – The Spirit of the Lord says, “Iniquity has presented itself in a very unusual fashion in this nation. I want you to watch the debates of the elect,” said the spirit of the Lord. Something unusual shall take place during a 2nd debate that shall cause this nation to begin to fear and tremble. The Spirit of the Lord says that, “I will destroy the bondage that has come in. That a very unusual iniquity has entered in to the law and the economy.” But the spirit of the Lord says, “Let the prophet prophesy tonight. That I will open up the heavens at the 2nd debate - at the 2nd meeting,” says the Lord. “I will bring something unusual to happen. There shall be a threat against the President Elect.” But the Spirit of the Lord says, “I will multiply the grace upon this nation. And I will show you once again that there is nothing too hard for the Lord to do. There shall be a shaking. There shall be a shaking in the Presbyterian church.” God says, “People shall have unusual baptisms of the Holy Spirit,” says the Lord.
Kim Clement – Albany New York. Sept 10 2004

I watched the 2nd debate and the only thing that made me “fear and tremble” was the thought that John Kerry might actually become president. This so called word of the lord is cited on Clements website and as of 10-10-04 was also featured on the Elijah List website even though by now it is obviously false.

Read these words carefully and it becomes apparent that this man is just a babbler. What exactly is a “very unusual iniquity”? The dictionary defines iniquity as an injustice, an immorality or an immoral act. How does an injustice or immoral act “enter in to the law”? I understand that one could classify many laws as immoral but how does immorality “enter into” the law? How does an injustice “enter into” the economy?

And what exactly did this mean, “That I will open up the heavens at the 2nd debate - at the 2nd meeting,” says the Lord.”?

This man is the very definition of a cloud without water (Jude 1:12). He has the ability to talk much but say little.

Clement tried to claim a partial fulfillment of this prophecy on his website by linking to a CNN story about a threat against the president. That threat however was centered around the first debate, not the second. Clement has recently removed that link..

At the same Albany N.Y. meeting on Sept 9th Clement returned to one of his past false prophecies claiming that America will capture “Al Qaeda”

….And it’s September the 11th Saturday and the prediction is this: They will be captured, they will be brought before the world, (Al Qaeda) that this victory will be one of the greatest America has ever acquired and then suddenly 19 nations will join-in in a great battle against terrorism……
Kim Clement Albany N.Y. Sept. 9, 2004

Clements continued puffing of the war on terror reminds me of the false prophet of Ahab who told him to go up and take back Ramoth Gilead.

1 Kings 22:16
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

False prophets never change. They always prophesy peace and safety. They always prophesy victory and success.

In a recent appearance on TBN Kim Clement stated that he is often asked why he doesn’t prophesy “doom & gloom” like the prophets of old. He said this country didn’t need doom and gloom. What this country needed said Clement was hope!

I say what this country needs is the truth.

The truth is that we are a self righteous, stubborn, stiff necked people. The truth is that God has drawn us into the war on terror not because we are so good and righteous but for our ultimate judgment. It doesn’t really matter who the president is because God is in charge and God is causing all this to happen.

True prophets always called the people and the leaders back to God. True prophets always called for repentance. Clement never tells the church they need to repent. He never tells us that we are far from God. He only speaks smooth words. Words that make the people feel good about themselves. Words that make people fell secure in their apostasy and sin. Just like the false prophets of Ahab’s time.

I recently attended one of Clements prophetic gatherings sponsored by Mike Hayes Covenant Church in Carrollton. I came away with a better understanding of how this man operates.

There was nothing in that meeting that was glorifying to God. All the so called worship songs were man centered. It was all about what WE were doing or what WE were going to do. Nothing was directed toward Him. Clement even led the crowd in a song that was really more of a chant;

Spirit, spirit, we receive your fire….spirit, spirit, we receive your fire!

Where does that come from? I’m not an expert on witchcraft but I’ll tell you the whole evening had a very cultic feel to it. A dark auditorium, flashing lights, loud rock and roll music with a heavy bass line, repetitive lyrics extolling warfare. A very worldly atmosphere. And the sad thing was that hundreds of Christians of all ages were totally sucked into this environment

Kim Clement is not a prophet. He is a sorcerer. He operates by the power of witchcraft. That is why some of his “prophecies” seem to come to pass and some don’t. Just like Jannes and Jambres, Pharaoh’s magicians were able to duplicate some of Moses’ miracles Clement is able seemingly to foretell some events before they happen. But because Satan is not omnipotent and because God is sovereign Clement doesn’t really see anything. In fact I believe that those events he seems to predict are actually being called into being by him and by those to whom he prophecy’s.

Deut 13:1-3
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them. Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

In other words a prophet may speak correctly about a certain event but if his words don’t agree with the words of the bible we are to reject him. He is proclaiming another Jesus, a Jesus not found in scripture. God has actually allowed it to test you to see if you will follow that false Jesus.

Don’t fall for it. We have a more sure word of prophecy. The word of the Lord Jesus

2 Peter 1:19
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
